Two squares lost in the intricate grid of Barracas, Unamuno and Magaldi, have a new face. Both are virtually hidden: the unorthodox grid of the perimeter makes them virtually invisible. This special situation of irregularity of the classic Buenos Aires urban tissue (a project by Fermín Bereterbide), creates an intimate atmosphere, as an interior courtyard

As the squares are cut off between them, so the project homogenizes their floorings, games, facilities, vegetation to make them part of the same system. Two pergolas in Unamuno, and one in Magaldi, are laid out emphasizing the special spatial situation, also functioning as a signal on an urban scale: pergolas indicate that in these block interiors there is a public space. Pergolas also indicate the dry area of the square, where there is table tennis, chess, and rest areas.
最初的项目在2008年的比赛中获得了一等奖，还包括平整街道和人行道，创造了通常被称为“欢乐街道”的人和汽车，从而实现了将广场的空间扩展到房屋的立面。但由于预算原因，一些项目没有完成。
The original project, the first prize in a competition in 2008, also included the leveling of streets and sidewalks creating what is commonly referred to as “convivial streets” –people & cars- and thus achieving to extend the space of the square to the facades of the houses. For budgetary reasons, when addressing the construction in 2013, this and other minor operations were not completed.
