这个建筑是住宅+办公室的结合，位于有高层住宅和办公大楼的高密度地区。业主是两位从事编辑工作的女性，他们想要在城市环境中工作和生活的同时享受花园，提出的要求也很简单，空间上必须有办公室、共享生活空间、单间、客房、浴室等。开始设计时，我们将项目定义为一个功能介于办公室、住宅或宿舍之间的项目，场地长8米，宽4米，呈极小的矩形，场地的三面被30多米高的巨型建筑环绕着，在这些巨大的建筑之间形成了一个狭小又高耸的空间。
It is a residence/office that is planned in the high density area having high-rise residence and office buildings. Two women who works on an editorial job wanted to work and live in the historical city environment. Concrete demand condition was an office, shared living space, individual room, guest room, bathroom and so on. We felt that this is a program in the middle of the function such as an office, a residence or a dormitory. The site had 8 m x 4 m extremely small rectangu- lar shape and three sides of the site were sur- rounded by over 30 meter-high gigantic buildings without set back, which was a space like a bottom of the valley in between the gigantic buildings.
我们想知道是否可以设计一个没有墙的建筑，因为如果我们像往常一样建造结构墙的话，结构的就会相应的占据本来就狭小的空间，我们最终选择的设计方案是没有墙壁的，每层设置一套花园和房间，只有水平的平板垂直堆积。
We wonder if we could design a building without walls because the width of the struc- ture was subtract out of narrow site width if we built it by making structure walls as usual, and we felt the building would be very narrow. The final composition we selected is the plan that there are no walls, only hori- zontal slabs are vertically accumulated and a set of garden and room is arranged on each floor.
每一层的每个房间，如客厅、私人房间、浴室，都设有一个专属的花园，可以在傍晚的阅读休憩时间内享受微风的轻抚，这使得生活更加开放。
We thought it makes open life that every room on each floor such as living room, private room, and bathroom has an exclusive garden to feel wind, to read or to enjoy the evening time.
自由布置房间和花园，由于每层的房间都比楼板小，所以房间和花园之间可以有独特的关系，我们可以在采光条件不好的情况下最大限度地感受一个明亮的环境，并快乐和舒适地生活在城市的中心。
We can arrange rooms and gardens freely and distinctive relationship between rooms and gardens could be possible since rooms on each floor are smaller than slabs. We thought to design a transparent building without walls as a whole that we could feel maximally a bright environment in the dark site condition and happily and comfortably the special condi- tion that we live in the center of the city as possible.
