Moving Forest is based on a story master Gen had heard as a child about a forest where the trees move at night so that people would loose their way and could never get out. The tale has been haunting him ever since.
We imagined people adopting a tree; would they take one on their journey through the city? The Trees would pop-up unexpected locations, in shopping streets, alley, front yard, on bike paths, bridges or public squares. The might gather together in regularly changing geometric patterns, be scattered over town or disappear in interiors.
After a period of 6 weeks the festival is over, the trees will be sold and hopefully find a new ‘home’. A convoy of trees might pass through the streets, a slowly dispersing forest.
