The Casa Crédito project corresponds to a single-family house with a continuous façade between party walls, located in the Providencia district, Santiago, Chile. The surrounding neighborhood called “Barrio Italia” is made up of heritage and renovated properties highlighting the artistic and bohemian spirit. Art galleries, fashion stores, restaurants and artist workshops within the highlights.

The initial proposal was intended to be a remodeling of the existing house, with a central axis of circulation, however when making the first reviews on the ground we found that the property lacked foundations and structural walls. We chose to remake the house from its foundations incorporating the current regulations, maximizing its possibilities through interior patios and terraced ceilings. The plants are arranged on 3 levels, highlighting the use of roofs such as green roofs or terraces, generating views towards the Andes mountain range and the San Cristóbal hill, icon of the capital.

The house program is organized around a central circulation just like the original house with a succession of patios and enclosures associated with them with stairs that communicate the house on its 3 levels, relating the interior program of the house with its terrace ceilings . Being between party walls, we take advantage of natural light by generating north-facing patios that provide natural lighting, ventilation and unbuilt voids.

The predominant materiality consists of: Steel structure with intumescent paint, Reinforced masonry, collaborating slab, asphalt membrane, interiors in recycled native wood, refined radier flooring and reuse of the original tiles of the house.
