Manos Cafeteras was born before the creation of a work space of an institution called Manos Capaces dedicated to the development of young people and adults with different abilities, through their insertion into a work environment, pedagogical and safe, with psychological attention, and thus, provide them a happy and dignified life as part of the society in Queretaro.
The space begins with a spatial need to convert a 200m2 premises into a multipurpose space that could be transformed into both a work space and a communal space with different programs proposed by the organization and a palette of low-cost donated materials.
It was proposed to modulate the space in such a way that they could be divided by a series of mobile walls that, at the same time as physical barriers, could act as furniture and be able to occupy these screens to further expand the program. Therefore, the project can go from being a cafeteria to sectioning individual rooms, coworking areas, workshop rooms taught by the organization, exhibition and sale areas of the material and products produced by the organization and even individual positions in different events or bazaars. .
The result of using architecture as a tool applied to social responsibility, gives us a space that combines the relationship of stone materials with the versatility of mobile partitions with a single intention: inclusion.
