When the Presidio was transformed from a military post to a public space, it remained home to an amazing collection of landscapes, structures, and military artifacts, making it a unique contributor to the identity of our National Park system. Here, grounded by the goals of the Presidio Trust, National Park System, and Golden Gate Parks Conservancy, we explore this urban national park as an inviting public resource that preserves and enhances the incredible scenic views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Marin Headlands, Alcatraz Island, and the City skyline. We have considered the important role of the National Parks within the urban context to articulate a contemporary vision for the intersection of rich cultural histories with a powerful and phenomenological natural setting.; Q: t) x* h& Z T
